About

Hello and welcome!!!! My name is Brendan (he/they) and I'm a student, musician, developer, writer, visual artist, and language enthusiast. I love ice cream, the outdoors, brainrot memes, hour long YouTube video essays, and all things aesthetic/creative (music, art, movies/TV, video games, watching a gorgeous sunset from a mountaintop, etc but especially music). Memory Channel is the name of my creative project; a single cohesive outlet through which I can share my stuff! I'm so happy you stopped by!!

The name Memory Channel comes from the idea of memory acting like a stream, river, or "channel," having properties that both allow memories to move and change like a fluid and tie them to our present experiences. The town I grew up in was defined by the presence of a river running through it, and I wanted to include that imagery in the name somehow, but the river-like properties of memory and experience have also been very important to me and how I think about things. Memory Channel started out as just a musical project, then integrated my linguistic and writing pursuits, and has since expanded to encompass basically everything I do!

Here are some of the things I consider to be "core" themes and topics of Memory Channel:

The project is by no means limited to these topics, but they're things that I think about a lot and are themes that I feel pop up a lot in my life and have shaped the person I am today along with my creative work! I also have some writings that go into further detail about my thoughts on these themes and what they mean to me, if you choose to read them! The Memory Channel project is a living, breathing, constantly changing work in progress, and I will add things and give updates as they come.

Anyway, that's about it (at least in the interest of having a concise 'about' page). If you're interested, feel free to check out my music page or my visual art, or head back to the home page and leave a comment. Thanks so much again for stopping by, and enjoy your stay!
